BARBARA S. LEWIS RESUME
STATEMENT
The focus of my art is to achieve a marriage of the styles and techniques of the old masters, and orientalist painters, to produce work that is technically enduring and timeless in appeal. My interest is in light, color, and life. The subjects which interest me are animals, and people, faces that look back at you. Recently that interest has expanded into other subjects. In 2024 I joined a Plein Air group, that sparked an interest in landscapes and still life. I have no desire to have viewers wonder what they are seeing. They should be able to identify the subject and, hopefully, find something that stirs an emotion. My art is for the enjoyment of all who view it. Though individual taste and interest vary, everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy art without the need to intellectualize.
